The story of Miss Rumphius has a very special and personal meaning to us at Lavender Pond Farm and we are very excited to offer this wonderful story for sale. Even better, 100% of every book sold will be donated to the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven to help fight cancer.

Barbara Cooney's story of Alice Rumphius, who longed to travel the world, live in a house by the sea, and do something to make the world more beautiful, has a timeless quality that resonates with each new generation. The countless lupines that bloom along the coast of Maine are the legacy of the real Miss Rumphius, the Lupine Lady, who scattered lupine seeds everywhere she went. Miss Rumphius received the American Book Award in the year of publication and the art for Miss Rumphius has a permanent home in the Bowdoin College Museum of Art.

100% of the sales of this book will be donated to the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven. With your help, Lavender Pond Farm has sent more than $15,000 to Smilow to help fight cancer (as of 12/31/18).
