If you are getting married
during our posted open hours than yes, our farm will be open to the public. In
our experience this poses no issue, as you will have exclusive access to the
areas of the farm you have reserved and there is plenty of room for everyone.
However, if you would prefer the farm be closed for your event, please speak to
our wedding team to discuss the additional fee.
Of course! You are welcome to
visit Lavender Pond Farm unescorted any time our farm is open. If you’d
like after hours access or to be accompanied by someone from our wedding team
than please make an appointment advance.
Yes. We have designated
handicapped parking. Please keep in mind that the farm is a farm and our
fields, while mostly flat are in fact fields so guests in wheelchairs may need
a bit of a push to get around. With advance notice we can assist those with
mobility limitations in our golf cart.
There is plenty of room for
your guests to park and we will provide parking attendants to facilitate their
arrival. With advanced notice we can provide complimentary golf cart
transportation for those with limited mobility.
Yes. Please arrange this in
advance. Your bus will be assigned a designated parking area and must remain
parked for the duration of the event. Please note, Connecticut State Law
requires buses to be off (no idling) when parked.
Of course, but you’re on the
wrong page. Please check out our Photography Guidelines for that
information. If you’re getting married at our farm, than there is no additional
fee for photos/video (no drones during event) on the day of your wedding.
No. Your site fee includes
the rental of our property along with our love and support before, during and
after your wedding. You (or your wedding planner) are responsible for all the
fun details, however we will work closely with you and your vendors to ensure
the best day. All outside vendors must be pre-approved by Lavender Pond Farm.
Please note, all tenting must be removed within 72 hours of your event.
Water hook-ups are available for your caterer and restrooms. Electrical drops are available in the gazebo and power is provided to the tent area via extension cords. Electrical requirements for your band/DJ, caterer etc. should be confirmed with our wedding team prior to your event.
Your “walk-thru” is included
in your wedding fee. During our bloom season (June & July) Friday evening
rehearsals are subject to availability. You may elect to have your “rehearsal
dinner” at the farm for an additional fee. Normal curfew rules apply.
Depending on the time of year, fresh and/or
dried lavender is available for purchase and LPF brides receive a discount. Clipping of lavender during your event is not permitted. Please talk to our wedding team for more information.
Lavender Pond Farm is in an
agricultural/residential neighborhood. Live music/DJs must end by 9pm. Hard
rock, inappropriate lyrics or heavily amplified music is not appropriate for
our venue and will not be permitted. We suggest your provide us a playlist
before your event so there is no confusion. Please note, we are very serious
about this section and will enforce what we feel to be inappropriate content or
sound levels. Acoustic instruments or low volume amplification works great in
the gazebo during your ceremony/cocktail hour.
We are happy to drive the
bride and her attendants in style to the ceremony in our 1947 Ford Farm Truck.
We will pick them up at the Bridal Cottage and deliver them to the gazebo for
the ceremony. The truck can also be incorporated into your wedding photos.
There is no additional charge for utilizing the truck.
No. Lavender Pond Farm has a
single port-a-potty for farm visitors. Weddings of more than 40 people will be
required to arrange for portable bathrooms. There are many reputable vendors
who provide this service and we’re happy to refer you. The Bridal Cottage and
Groom’s Room facilities are solely for the use of the wedding party.
Your caterer will be
responsible for all food/beverage cleanup. Trash must be bagged and tied for
removal. Any excessive cleanup of common areas, including the fields, Bridal
Cottage and Groom’s Room will incur an additional charge.
Yes. This information will be
clearly spelled out in our site rental agreement. All vendors bringing
equipment onto the property must provide us with a rider naming Lavender Pond
Farm as an additional insured. Don’t worry about this; any professional vendor
will be very familiar with this requirement.
You have three choices when
it comes to alcohol. 1) Your caterer provides the alcohol and licensed
bartender. 2) You hire a service that provides the same. 3) You bring in your
own alcohol and provide a licensed and insured bartender. And yes, we’ll need
to verify the licensed and insured part. Regardless of your choice, Lavender
Pond Farm and its owners reserve the right to monitor alcohol consumption and refuse
service to anyone for any reason. The safety of your (our) guests, employees,
family and property is always our first priority. Alcohol “shots” and keg beer are not
